Kanae Japanese Choux Cafe

Kanae is a Japanese-inspired pastry cafe, specialized in Japanese cream choux pastries, also known as cream puffs.

These Japanese little bombs of lusciousness are baked choux pastries topped with sweet, crackly, crunchy cookies, and filled with unctuous custard and whipped cream in the middle.

What's special about it is its light and fluffy handmade shell which is then topped with a thin crunchy biscuit crackling before being baked to perfection.

Ellen's Story

The owner, Ellen, spent years in Osaka, Japan studying baking and pastry. She also worked at various patisseries before starting her own bakery shop.

Five years later, yearning for new challenges and a change of scenery, Ellen opened Kanae Japanese Choux Cafe, a haven for wonderful cakes & pastries.

There is no love more sincere than the love of food. People who love desserts tend to have pure and innocent souls. Ellen is just like this.

"I find great satisfaction in knowing that a simple but well-made dessert can bring so much joy and laughter to my friends and family.

Kanae かなえ（叶える）means 'coming true' in Japanese. I hope every dessert I make can inspire my guests to follow their dreams and have them come true. That's why I named the cafe shop Kanae."
